Our New York Prosthodontists At Central Park Dentistry Offer Dental Implants
We are a Central Park dentistry that places and restores dental implants for patients in the Central Park South area. Preserving natural teeth is always important, but sometimes disease, decay, or trauma can lead to teeth going missing. For patients with one or more missing teeth, Dr. Elsa Wong at Central Park Dentistry can help regain a long-lasting and fully functioning set of teeth.
What are Dental Implants?
A dental implant replaces the root of a tooth by being surgically placed into the jaw bone. Dental implants are made of titanium and are used to support either an artificial crown or denture and bridge work. The titanium implant eventually fuses with the natural tissue of the jaw bone, which improves the strength and stability of the implant.
In our Central Park office, we provide:
Single tooth replacement: Once a dental implant has been placed and healed, an artificial tooth can be capped on top of the implant. Single tooth replacement benefits patients who only have one missing tooth, and once placed, the crown looks indistinguishable from aligning teeth.
Fixed multiple tooth replacement: Multiple tooth replacement utilizes more than one implant in order to support bridge work. The bridges are crafted specifically to match existing teeth, and are permanently screwed into place once their supporting implants have healed.
Implant-supported dentures: For patients missing the majority or all of their teeth, anywhere from two to six implants (depending on whether the denture will be placed on the upper or lower jaw) will be placed into the jaw in order to support an entire denture. Implant-supported dentures work to improve the facial skeletal structure and – like single and multiple implants – are created to match natural teeth.
Dental Implants in Central Park, New York
During your initial consultation in our Central Park office, we will assess your medical history and determine whether your jaw bone is healthy enough to sustain dental implants. Pre-treatments that strengthen the jaw bone are available for those without adequate bone volume.
We provide a clinical and radiographic examination, as well as take digital x-rays in order to map out a specific treatment plan for your needs. Custom crowns are also created to match your existing tooth structure and color so that you may have the best smile possible.
